From the Parents of a Level Up Lake Worth Resident
Hello,
My son is a current resident at your facility. Prior to Level Up Lake Worth, he had been at numerous other rehabs including those in Florida, upstate New York and Pennsylvania. His father and I have talked to so many counselors, been attendees at family weekends and talked weekly on phone sessions offered to families who had a child in their center. This letter is to let you know how much we appreciate the skills, talent, warmth and attention we have received from Miriam Flynn.
We did not speak with Miriam until a few weeks had passed after he entered Level Up. He did not sign the release until Miriam convinced him it was the right thing to do for his treatment. Soon after she and I started communicating and we now feel that she is part of our family team, helping all of us to recover from the effects of having addiction in the family.
Since his father and I are both in the healthcare field, it can sometimes be hard to find someone we respect and admire. Miriam has taught us a lot in our month long association with her. We are a couple who have been hurt and scared and angry. She has helped us to see that our son needs to try life on his own and when he falls and skins his knee, he must figure out how to take care of it, on his own, without our extending hands. In addition to forming a trusting relationship with us, they have done some good work together and we are feeling that he might be opening up a little more to life on his own terms.
It is with gratitude that I write this email to you. Gratitude that we have Miriam on his team and ours. She has the intelligence and skills and kindness and understanding that any parent would seek when their child has been struck by addiction. Moreover, you are a lucky facility to have her on your staff and if there is anything we can do to help you or her, please let us know.
Thank you.
